I selected JC Penney for this blog because I love fashion and have my own Etsy shop where I sell vintage clothing. Also there is a big trend in Utility wear right now, think Carhart, but JC Penney's is obviously a great place to get basic well made work wear that can be turned into street wear. I also worked at JC Penney as a teenager. Their new tagline is "It's From Where? https://www.jcpenney.com/ People are talking about the company because everyone loves a comeback! The company also wants to capitalize on renewed interest in shopping malls amongst Gen Z. Remember when you were a kid and got dropped off at the mall on a Friday night? And then dropped your kids off at the mall when they were tweens. It was a safe indoor space for people to hang out, shop, eat , go to a movie and socialize. People love the nostalgia of it.   MarketingDive.com JC Penney has hired  Mischief @ No Fixed Address as its creative agency, they use   disruptive, headline-grabbing market...

Marketing in the News Blog

A recent marketing article that interested me on https://marketingdive.com/  was Beyonc é  's C é cred Hair Care line https://cecred.com/   because it's Beyonc é  ! Then the word C é cred got me curious because I didn't know that word! Was she making up a new word? Yes indeed. She took the word Sacred and changed the first two letters (Sa) to the last two letters of her name (C é  ) because she's Beyonc é   and can do anything she wants, right?  The product is a new hair care line with instructional videos on how to take care of different kinds of hair with experts in the field. Consumers can engage, seek education and share personal stories. It is a Content Community selling "A deeper understanding of hair". The Value Proposition is they are telling real stories and pointing out that we may all look different but our emotional relationship with our hair is surprisingly similar. The marketing approach is unique because it is taking into ac...

About Me

Hello, My name is Tara Tindall and I am coming back to school after several decades in the workforce. I was working for a company in Albany, OR. that went through a "Reduction in Workforce" and I was reduced. I had some options, and qualified for unemployment benefits. In the state of Oregon if you are collecting unemployment you can look for work, start a business or go back to school and still get your weekly benefits. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finally go back to school. I enrolled in the One Year Business Certificate because I have always wanted to be my own boss. I am tired of working for other people's dreams. I want to put in the time and effort for myself. I have been a part of a business before, in Alabama, my mother and I had an antique/home interior shop and we took a lot of things on consignment. It was called "Tassels" and we were on the same road as the country club. At first the county club ladies would stop in and buy som...
